To help you prepare for your stay, you will find on this page a small list of activities to enjoy in winter. Sainte-Foy is a paradise for skiing enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those seeking an authentic mountain experience. In just a few minutes by car, you can reach the largest ski resorts in the Alps: Les Arcs, La Rosière, Tignes, and Val d'Isère.

By shuttle or just a few minutes by car, you reach the authentic resort of Sainte-Foy with its charming chalets and forests. The snow-capped peaks welcome you for a magical day. No waiting at the chairlift, you don't lose a minute of skiing! Arriving at an altitude of 2500 m, you have the choice of slopes: a leisurely descent or a secured off-piste adventure. At noon, take a break in the small mountain restaurants offering local cuisine. The day will have allowed you to explore the area, and in the following days, you can enjoy the slopes even more without the crowds of the larger surrounding resorts.

Departure from La Rosière (15 minutes by car from the chalet), the sunniest resort in France. Many slopes are exposed to the south on the French side. Uniquely, you can cross the Italian border on skis at the Col du Petit Saint Bernard and ski on the Italian side. At noon, you can have lunch at Pepita Ristorante in La Thuile. Pepita is a culinary gem in La Thuile, Italy, where warm hospitality and exceptional cuisine create an unforgettable experience. Glowing reviews highlight the prompt service, the delicacy of truffle pasta, and the unexpectedly high level of quality.
Start on foot from the chalet to reach the Crot road, along the chapel towards the mountains. Depending on the snow conditions, you can walk or put on your snowshoes or backcountry skis right from the start. In less than an hour, through snowy trails, you will reach the picturesque village of Crot, composed of alpine chalets buried under the winter snow. For the more adventurous, the walk continues to the hamlet of Pierre Giret, and perhaps even to the Refuge du Ruitor, in the middle of the Sassière plateau.

The Tignes - Val d'Isère ski area is one of the largest in Europe, boasting breathtaking landscapes and providing a perfect playground for backcountry skiing and freeriding. For instance, you can take a cable car to the Pissaillas Glacier, at nearly 3200m above sea level. Instead of descending the slope, with seal skins under your skis, you ascend towards the Pointe du Montet, crossing the Pays Desert. At almost 3500m altitude, each step requires effort but unveils a new pristine and immaculate landscape. Upon reaching the summit, the panoramic view is an invaluable reward. The descent, through powder and tight turns, offers a unique sense of freedom. During the descent, you encounter no one, truly in communion with the natural and wild mountain.
At the top of the Aiguille chairlift, turn left, leaving the slope on the right, and let yourself be carried between snow-capped peaks and breathtaking landscapes. After a few technical but accessible sections, you will arrive at Monal, a hamlet of alpine chalets dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. It is advisable to do this for the first time with a guide and always with the appropriate safety equipment.

Le chalet dispose de casiers à skis pour stocker votre matériel.
La location de skis se fait soit directement en station (plusieurs loueurs à disposition) ou à Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Il est possible de louer des skis de piste ou des skis de randonnée.
